E3 2013 EA Preview Conference

E3 2013 EA Preview Conference

The E3 2013 conference kicked off today and EA definitely did not disappoint. At the EA Conference today they unveiled 12 new games coming out on the new next gen consoles. Starting off the show they showcased Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare. PvZ Garden Warfare is a third person Tower Defense shooter hybrid and from what we have seen it looks very entertaining. Perhaps one of the biggest surprise was about a 30 second trailer that revealed the long anticipated Star Wars Battlefront. Not much is known about the game but just the fact that it exist is enough to make us excited.

Of course EA was sure to demonstrate their new Ignite Game Engine in action with their whole library of EA Sports franchises. Ball physics are all redone along while player movements and AI have all been upgraded dramatically. So whether you enjoy any sport from Football to UFC to Basketball EA is poised to deliver some of their best and most realistic sports titles to date.

EA wrapped up their show with their bread and butter, Battlefield 4. Battlefield 4 will be one of the first shooters to support 64 player matches. EA and DICE debuted this by actually bringing out 64 players to compete in a live multiplayer match. The gameplay featured all the staples of Battlefield from realistic guns, vehicular warfare and destructible environments. The icing on the cake ended the game play with the players taking down an entire skyscraper building in real time during the match.

Oh, and did I mention, EA answered the pleas of many of their fan base and proved one of the biggest pre-E3 rumors true and announced Mirrors Edge 2. We were shown a short trailer that featured our heroine Faith getting a tattoo and barreling through hallways and overrunning armed guards in true parkour fashion.
