Ubisoft E3 2013 press conference run-down.

Ubisoft E3 2013 press conference run-down.

Ubisoft announced sequels to current popular franchises such as Assassin’s Creed, Ray-man and Splintercell, a couple of new IPs called “The Crew” and “The Division”, and a couple games everyone was expecting to see: “South Park and the stick of Truth” and “Watch Dogs”.

“The Crew” is a new racing game where players can traverse all across the United states, customize vehicles on a tablet, and work with other players in crews to accomplish missions. It’s like a racing MMO. They had an in-depth game-play demo that presented all the different modes and features.

Splinter-Cell: Blacklist was announced with just a trailer, and didn’t garnish a lot of excitement. South Park also only had a trailer, but it featured a fart called the “Nagasaki”, so it got me excited. Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag featured two trailers, but didn’t really resonate. The Watch Dogs trailer was very cinematic and well received.

“The Division” is the next Tom Clancy game Ubisoft is publishing, and it looks amazing. It’s a post apocalyptic third person shooter with a Watch Dogs type atmosphere and feel. The seven minute demo was a great conclusion to Ubisoft’s overall great press conference.
