Forge Goes Free to Play
Forge, the MMO style PvP game by Dark Vale Games is planning to go free to play this Monday, August 19th. Forge plays similar to late game PvP game modes in MMORPGs, but without the months or years of grinding to get the best gear. With a decent amount of customization and a market of cosmetic items, Dark Vale hopes The change in business model will help sustain their game better than the current version.
Between this change and their previous patch cleaning up the in game progression system, the developers at Dark Vale are taking the right steps to move their game the current popular free to play model in a good way. Dark Vale is also looking to get as many players in their community to be streaming on twitch as possible to really put the word out that Forge is going free to play and that everyone should check it out.
With its fast paced action and all skillshot abilities, weekly tournaments designed for competitive play, leaderboards and guilds for guild play later on, Forge is attempting to get the attention and community it never got on release.
Check out the main Dark Vale twitch channel as they hope to bring more attention to their title, and you can download Forge and play it yourself through steam.
